British Airways selects BT Route Management Service

BT Route Management Service (RMS) has been selected by British Airways World Cargo. The technology will allow British Airways World Cargo to monitor the progress of consignments during transportation and will produce detailed reports, helping to improve the efficiency of its extensive global cargo network.

BT’s Route Management Service provides the air logistics community with the critical business intelligence to accurately monitor and improve consignment delivery performance. Designed and developed in conjunction with the world’s leading airlines and forwarders, BT’s RMS is Cargo 2000 Data Management Platform compliant and enables integrated services across all parties in the logistics community.

RMS uses a combination of booking information, airline schedules and customer-supplied parameters to define a route map for individual master or house level consignments. The service provides real-time web-based access to easy to read graphical reports, pinpointing current consignment status and automatically highlights any deviations from expected service levels.

BT’s RMS helps deliver improved supply-chain visibility, identify areas for service improvement and provides the business intelligence to support reliable service delivery.

British Airways World Cargo is a leading cargo airline and carries freight, mail and courier traffic to 200 destinations in more than 80 countries. As well as recently launching new routes to Pakistan, Germany and Trinidad, the company was named ‘Carrier of the Year’ at the 2015 Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association Awards.
